Highlights:
Your Segway adventure begins at our Barrack Street Jetty office, where we suit up and complete an informative training session to ensure everyone feels comfortable and confident before departure.
Setting off past the iconic Bell Tower, we cruise along Riverside Drive beside the stunning Swan River. Your knowledgeable tour guide will share fascinating commentary about Perth’s history, culture, and natural beauty as we glide by Langley Park – once Perth’s first airstrip – and along tranquil wetlands teeming with birdlife. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and other aquatic life that frequent these peaceful waters.
We continue towards the impressive new Boorloo Bridge, offering breathtaking views both upstream and downstream along the Swan River. From here, you can admire the sparkling city skyline, the opposite shore, and Heirisson Island, where you might even spot wild kangaroos. Crossing to the eastern foreshore, we enter Burswood Park – a vibrant riverside precinct filled with playgrounds, recreational hubs, and cultural sites of great Indigenous significance. We then approach Matagarup Bridge, also known as the Serpent Bridge, where we pause for photos of its striking design. Its flowing arches represent either black and white swans or the Wagyl, the Noongar water serpent, a powerful symbol in local culture.
Continuing through lush parklands, we reach Optus Stadium, Perth’s premier venue for major sporting events and concerts, and home to experiences such as the bridge climb, zip line, and mini golf. Crossing Matagarup Bridge, we enter the picturesque Claisebrook Cove in East Perth, with its distinctly Mediterranean feel. Here, we take a relaxing break amid waterfront cafes, restaurants, and apartments that make this area especially lively on weekends.
After our stop, we journey back towards the city, passing Victoria Gardens and Claisebrook Lake, then continue along scenic pathways through Perth’s beautiful gardens. We ride past the historic Perth Mint, Government House – often host to visiting royalty and dignitaries – and the striking Boonji Spaceman sculpture, a perfect photo opportunity. Our memorable tour winds down as we glide through Stirling Gardens and return to our base at Barrack Street Jetty, having experienced the very best of Perth’s riverside, cultural, and historical landmarks in a truly unique way.
